MEGA RARE 1971 Original UK A1//B3 1st Pressing 'Aqualung' by Jethro Tull on the Mega Rare 1st Press Green Island/Chrysalis 1st Press labels with ILPS Cat. No. and Residual Island Logo (outlined 'i' at 12 o'clock)!!! In Impossible Nr Mint Condition!!! Complete with 1st Press E.J. Day Textured Gatefold Sleeve!!! A Very Rare Record impossible to Find in this Condition!!!!

You are bidding on one of the all time classic Progressive LP's - and almost impossible to find nowadays in its true UK A1//B3 Matrix TRUE 1st press format (and especially in this condition!!!) The awesome 'Aqualung' by Jethro Tull!! Seen by many as THE BEST progressive album ever made, what makes this particular copy so very rare is that it is the Original 1971 UK 1st Ever UK Island/Chrysalis Pressing, with the 'Outlined i' green label and ILPS Island cat number!!! (all later pressings were pressed solely by Chrysalis and had the just the Chrysalis cat number and no residual Island logo). Believe me, as a UK 1st pressing, this is a very sought-after record today. What's more, it is Stunning MINT- Condition!!! This record only had an incredible short press run on these 1st Island/Chrysalis labels and are very difficult to find anymore - and True UK 1st pressings never turn up  in Nr Mint condition anymore so don't miss out on this one!!! I am also currently offering beautiful Un-Played Nr Mint UK 1st pressings of Tull's other two masterpieces- 'Thick as a Brick', and 'Living in the Past'. Both are the rare UK  genuine 1st pressing with the 'Thick as a Brick' having the correct Matrix numbers/etchings & residual Island Logo's and Original E.J.Day 1st press Newsaper sleeve and the 'Living in the Past' having the corrrect Matrix numbers/etchings and original hard-backed Cavendish Press 1st press integrated booklet sleeve!!! Usually only found on later green labels (with no island logo) or the repress blue/white Chrysalis labeIs, this record is very rare to find on the original UK 1st press Green Island/Chrysalis label anymore.  if you have never heard this record, it will blow you away!!! An absolutely essential (and very rare) progressive record to own!!! Don't miss this one as this LP rarely turns up any more.

The all-important green Island logo centre labels are Mint- superb with NO Peeling, NO Lifting NO Grubbyness (very common on the white part of these labels) and NO unwanted writing/scribbles of any kind. They are nice and shiny with just a small area of the usual light spindle lines!!! The centre spindle holes and gramophone rims are also Mint-!!! The quality thick & chunky 1st press vinyl looks an sounds absolutely stunning, remember - this is the earliest 1st press, straight from the master, it therefore sounds much louder and defined than all the weaker later re-pressings.  I cannot emphasise how very difficult it is to find 1st press copies of this LP that have not been played to death, on the rare occasions that the do turn up they are full of nasty scratches and gouges. This one is NOT!!! It looks absolutely stunning with a deep 'just pressed' shine and just has a solitary tiny non-feelable hairline on beginning of side 2. Other that that this vinyl is in stunning Nr Mint condition!!! There are NO scuffs/scratches or blemishes!!!! You will not find a more pristine UK 1st pressing of this record!!! It will grace any MINT- progressive collection!!!  This vinyl is in stunning Nr Mint condition!!!  I am very pleased to state that this is a record that also plays as good as it looks!!! This example It has NO crackling, NO jumps, NO skips and NO hissing!!! Absolutely beautiful!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1970's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!). 

The original textured 1st press E.J. Day  gatefold sleeve, complete with lyric inner is also in superb condition. It is unbelievably clean, tidy and unblemished!!! On the rare occasions these turn up they are usually completely worn out. Island Record's policy of not laminating their sleeves during the early 1970's always leads to these sleeves turning up grubby and worn-out looking today. This one is not!!! It still retains ALL of its original stiffness and BOX SHAPE with very little edge wear!!! It folds out perfectly to reveal the inner, which is completely unblemished with just some light rippling. The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with NO RING WEAR and a MINT spine with MINT legible text!!! It has virtually NO corner and NO EDGE WEAR AT ALL and definitely NO seam splitting!!!  The sleeve has NO unwanted writing/scribbles!!! Anyone familiar with 1970's UK Island sleeves will appreciated how rare an original sleeve in this condition is!! It is a truly outstanding example and easily grades as Excellent++, you will not find a better UK 1st press E.J. Day sleeve!!!  Of course, this record comes with its correct and original lyric-printed inner sleeve. These always suffer from horrendous seam splitting for some reason, and always turn up with at least on split seam (usually the bottom where the record has knifed through) This one is different - it lies perfectly flat with no seam splits and no nasty creases!!! Both the record and inner sleeves are so beautifully preserved because the record was removed and replaced in another standard poly-lined inner sleeve upon purchase, and the original inner was tucked back inside the other sleeve. This is how it will come shipped to you. All in all a superb example of this rare UK Island/Chrysalis 1st pressing - Forget the later inferior re-pressings, this is the only way you should listen to this record!!! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure.
