THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND HARD TO FIND! THIS IS ONE OF JIMI HENDRIX RAREST LPs AS THE BARCLAY BLACK LABEL WAS MOSTLY FOR EXPORT AND SOLD IN SMALL QUANTITIES AND DOESN'T COME UP FOR SALE OFTEN PARTICULARLY IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.

BARCLAY RECORDS HAD THE RIGHTS FOR JIMI HENDRIX IN FRANCE BUT NOT FOR THE COVERS AND DECIDED TO RE RELEASE ALL THE OFFICIAL RECORDS OF JIMI HENDRIX IN FRANCE AS DOUBLE LPS COMMISSIONING THE COVERS TO COMIC DRAWING LEGENDS AND THESE WERE NEVER RELEASED ANTWHERE IN THE REST OF THE WORLD.  THIS WAS RENAMED SUNS AND RAINBOW AND HAD A DIFFERENT COVER “VOODOO SOUP” DESIGNED BY MOEBIUS AND THE INSIDE COVER WITH PHOTO BY JEAN PIERRE LELOIR AND MISPRINT CREDIT.

On offer another RARITY by JIMI HENDRIX - SUNS AND RAINBOW. FOLLOWING THE RELEASE OF ALL THE FIRST PRESSING WITH DIFFERENT FRENCH COVERS BARCLAY IN THE 70'S DECIDED TO RELEASE ALL THE OFFICIAL HENDRIX LPS AND COMMISSIONED FAMOUS COMIC ARTISTS TO DO THE SLEEVES.

This double LP titled JIMI HENDRIX /1 contains “ARE YOU EXPERIENCED AND AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE” and this is the MEGA RARE AND HARD TO FIND ORIGINAL FRENCH Pressing on the RARE BLACK BARCLAY label with a specially commissioned cover to MOEBIUS that is different to the rest of the world! 

Also known as VOODOO Soup it was drawn by the legendary cult comic artist Moebius from a photograph of Hendrix eating soup in France, it captures the sound Hendrix was moving toward at the end of his life—his head exploding in flames, or mushroom clouds, or pink psychedelic bronchial tubes, or whatever.       
 

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1975 FRENCH PRESSING ON THE BARCLAY LABEL WITH THE ULTRA RARE COVER BY MOEBIUS WITH THE INSIDE COVER PHOTOS BY JEAN PIERRE LELOIR.  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VERY HARD TO FIND  

The ULTRA RARE Gatefold NOT laminated Cover by MOEBIUS is in very good to excellent condition with corner wear. It has the missprint "Castels mad od sand" instead of "made".

The spine is  fully readable with edge and corner wear.

The inside non laminated sleeve has the unique French black and white photographs by Jean Pierre Leloir.

The vinyl is visually graded to be overall in near mint condition. Please see below a description of grades and note that this vinyl is almost 45 years old that has been played and will not transform into anything different to the condition stated.

The black Barclay record labels are in near mint condition.

Visually-graded vinyl: A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and can help determine whether a record has been cared-for properly. A visual grading will not identify noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and sixty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect.

Mint                      
Cover - Looks new - no marks, wear or damage
Disc - Looks unplayed - no marks visible
 
Near Mint              
Cover - Looks virtually new with signs of handling- Minor wear creases but no marks or damage. Light sleeves may show slight discoloration due to age.
Disc - May have minor scuffs &/or hairline scratches caused by moving record in & out of paper sleeve
 
Excellent                
Cover - Slight signs of wear on edges/spine, corners or ring wear. No damage caused by sticker removal/residue.
Disc- The record has been played and has superficial marks &/or hairline scratches and paper scuffs.
 
Very good              
Cover - Moderate edge/spine or ring wear. Corners may be a little blunt. Opening edge may show feathering caused by removal of record. Visible creases or laminate lift. Localised sticker removal damage.
Disc - The record has been played frequently and has noticeable surface marks, occasional light scratches and paper scuffs.
 
Good                      
Cover - Heavy ring or edge/spine wear. Corners noticeable bashed. Heavy creases. Considerable laminate/surface damage.
Disc - The record looks very well played and the sound quality has probably deteriorated noticeably. A lot of surface marks/scratches. Usually used as collection filler
