Description

Jimi Hendrix Experience - 'Electric Ladyland' - 1968 first pressing with blue text gatefold sleeve (inner notes), inverted catalogue numbers, 'scratched out' matrices etc. Issued on the Track label - 613008 and 613009. Sides are ordered A / D and B / C.

The album has been well played and handled and I will try and describe this carefully. Main interest is I think that it is a blue text original and would possibly constitute a reasonable 'filler' until that elusive pristine copy materialised.

The gatefold sleeve has wear but no splits or tears. I have hopefully added photos which identifies corner creasing that is present. Edge wear has occurred which is most marked at the ends of the spine and at the corners. There is a 2 1/2" scratch to the rear cover which has not cut the cardboard or caused the lamonate to lift. The spine is sunned and the inner spine has a thin line of wear along its length. There is a very small nick to one of the opening edges. I cannot find any evidence of laminate peeling despite the defects.

So....to the grading which I will try and carry out strictly. I would say that the sleeve is G++ or just making VG and I wills settle for the latter as there are no major defects such as splits or tears. Comes with poly lined inner sleeves althought hese are not the original 'plastic bags can be dangerous' ones.

The records have been well played marked by a lot of spindle marks to the labels. There are marks to all 4 sides, mostly light but with one or two more  pronounced with one light mark running across one side. The marks do not result in horrible clicks however and the records generally play quite acceptably and certainly in my view remain enjoyable to listen to. There is definite surface noise - worst at the beginnings of each side where it is particularly noticeable and also in the quieter periods of the records - there are no skips or jumps however and the sound quality remains pure. As mentioned I would describe the record as a reasonable 'filler' - I will grade overall strictly as again varying between G+ and VG and will consequently grade as G++.
