"Music Of My Heart"
Ungodly rare, and sought after Funk, Modern Soul, 2 LP set by:
John Heartsman And Circles "Music Of My Heart" (VC 4508) This is an original press, not a reissue or a bootleg. Only a few LP originals exist. This extraordinarily rare LP is autographed by John Heartsman, the legendary J.J. Funderburk, and fellow vocalist, and tamborine player, Janice Lavon. Unknown to many, owned by few, this killer 1976 LP by John Heartsman (better know as Johnny Heartsman) is just being discovered by hard-core collectors the world over. Loaded with break beats and funky acid jazz, musician Funderburk lays down some of the funkiest drumming ever! This album features live and studio tracks, the live tracks are from the Sickle Cell Jazz festivals in Modesto and Sacramento. There are numerous standout tracks, but some highlights include the brisk lounge-funk of "Talking About My Baby", the very similar "Who Do You Love", a cover of Grover Washington Jr's "Mr. Magic" an otherworldly take on Luis Bonfa's "A Day In The Life of a Fool", two versions of "Silky Pete" (both instrumentals), a mellow soul song "Up and Down", a funky B.B. King cover of "The Thrill is Gone", and the eerie psychedelic flute funk of "The Road to Nowhere".This LP is so rare that most Sacramento collectors don't know of it's existence. This insanely rare LP was recorded in Modesto and Sacramento. Some have said that only 100 copies of this original LP were pressed. In my numerous years of almost daily record hunting, this is the first copy that I have seen. I have seen this record in this condition sell for up to $5300.00, so place your bid before it is gone! If you desire to hear a sound clip of a track from this L.P., let me know and I can record it for you.
