Description
JOY DIVISION: 1977-1980 SUBSTANCE.
This 1988 Album played very well on my Record Player without "sticking", "jumping" or "ticking", but my ear picked up a few "crackles" at the start of Autosuggestion, so would like to grade VG+, although overall, it may be better. I've tried to fill in as many Item Specifics as I could.
The Outer Sleeve is of the "dull not shiny" kind, which means no "finger-marks"! I've found that a normal "old" L.P. has at least a couple if "spidery creases along the edges, but this has none! The only slight imperfection is the HMV sticker - left that on in case I damaged the cover taking it off.
The Inner Sleeve is not as good as the Outer, although intact. There are lots of "spots" on both sides - please see Images for that.
This still may be better than most out there, and also better than one you might be trying to replace.
Released the day before my 26th Birthday (!) in early July 1988, this reached Number 7 in the Official UK Chart, staying in for 2 months. It has both UK Hit Singles:
Love Will Tear Us Apart, No.13 in 1980
Atmosphere, No.34 in 1988 (must have been a re-release!)
Have Guinness Hit Singles & Albums Book as reference. Happy to let this go now, as have it in another format.
It's likely I bought it soon after release (probably "end of month pay-day"), but can't really remember.
Matrix Numbers are FACT250: A-2 & B-4. Runout on A has LYN 20891, and B has LYN 20892.
I always use a record cloth before playing, but am sure everyone knows what static does!
Having put all my Records in order early last year (took several weeks!), I've been playing through them for the first time in nearly 30 years - very enjoyable so far - but with space having to be freed up now (this has been in 4 different houses with me), this is the 174th of 366 Artist L.P.'s which I started with (am keeping 102 of them so far), with a further 40 Comedy or Compilation L.P.'s.
Please feel free to ask anything.
Many thanks, Scott.
