This is an original (first), mono pressing with "RVG" and ear in run-off, recorded at the Rudy Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, NJ, on July 28, 1956; liner notes by Leonard Feather. Comes with bio folder in German and English with photos (see pictures above). The heavy stock jacket shows modest shelf wear with sticker on back surface, bottom right corner (VG or better). Label is clean (NEAR MINT MINUS); wax visually grades at about EX or EX+. Play-grades from about VG+ to NEAR MINT with no distortion even at higher volumes and even in the more dynamic passages. No startling pops or loud clicks, the only extraneous noise comes in the form of very quiet background noise audible between cuts. Though at times the extraneous noise intrudes into the music it is never a distraction. A message to the hard-core, audiophile who enjoys listening to his or her system rather than the music: STAY AWAY. For the jazz lover who simply wants the best sound, the best bang for the bucks: BID AWAY. We realize that grading is very subjective. For this reason we always offer a complete refund for any reason within 14 days of winning date. In addition to a complete and swift refund, we'll pay return postage. For those not familiar with original Blue Note pressings, the wax is heavy; international bidders please be aware that S&H runs higher than normal, perhaps much higher than you're used to. We have packaged the record in separate jacket for shipping and for your long-term storage needs at home. The vinyl comes in top-of-the-line poly inner sleeve with professional quality Nagaoka inner included at no extra cost.
