1955 Vanguard records album "A Bach Recital" Limited Autograph Edition of 500 copies, this being copy number 158. 

Some soiling and wear on the outside and inside covers but intact, elsewise, only missing what was probably a small brochure on the back, with clean signature.

James Friskin (* March 3rd 1886 in Glasgow , † March 16 1967 in New York City ) was a Scottish-American pianist, music teacher and composer.

Friskin studierte am Londoner Royal College of Music bei Edward Dannreuther (Klavier) und Charles Villiers Stanford (Komposition). Friskin studied at London's Royal College of Music in Edward Dannreuther (piano) and Charles Villiers Stanford (composition). Von 1909 bis 1914 lehrte er am Royal Normal College for the Blind in London. From 1909 to 1914 he taught at the Royal Normal College for the Blind in London. 1914 übersiedelte er in die USA, wo er in New York zunächst am Institute of Musical Arts unterrichtete. In 1914 he moved to the United States, where he first lived in New York at the Institute of Musical Arts taught. Später wurde er Mitglied des Lehrkörpers der Juilliard Graduate School , an der er bis zu seinem Tod unterrichtete. Later he became a member of the faculty of the Juilliard Graduate School , where he taught until his death. 1944 heiratete er die Komponistin und Bratschistin Rebecca Clarke . In 1944 he married the composer and violist Rebecca Clarke .

Friskin befasste sich besonders mit dem Werk von Johann Sebastian Bach und spielte 1954 bzw. 1956 mehrere seiner Werke auf Schallplatte ein. Friskin dealt particularly with the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and played in 1954 or 1956 several of his works on a record.

James Friskins heute kaum mehr bekanntes kompositorisches Werk entstand weitgehend in seiner Londoner Zeit und umfasst neben kammermusikalischen Werken (darunter sein in London vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg häufig aufgeführtes Klavierquintett c-Moll op. 1 von 1907) ein Klavierkonzert, eine Konzertouvertüre und Lieder. James Friskins now scarcely known compositional work was largely in his London period and consist of chamber works (including his in London often listed before the First World War Piano Quintet in C minor op 1 of 1907), a piano concerto, a concert overture and songs. Außerdem publizierte er 1921 The principles of Pianoforte Practice sowie – gemeinsam mit Irwin Freundlich – das Handbuch Music for Piano (New York, 1954). In addition, he published in 1921 The principles of pianoforte practice, and - together with Irwin friendly - the handbook Music for Piano (New York, 1954).

Louis Persinger (11 February 1887 – 31 December 1966) was an American violinist and pianist.

Persinger trained at the Leipzig Conservatory where he studied with Hans Becker, before finishing with Eugène Ysaÿe in Brussels and studying with Jacques Thibaud in France for two summers. He served as leader of the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra and the Royal Opera Orchestra in Brussels before being appointed leader and assistant conductor of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in 1915 and succeeding Leopold Auer at the Juilliard School in New York in 1930.

He was best known as the teacher of great violinists Yehudi Menuhin, Ruggiero Ricci, Isaac Stern, Camilla Wicks, Almita Vamos, Fredell Lack, Guila Bustabo, Arnold Eidus, Donald Erickson, Zvi Zeitlin, Leonard Posner and Louise Behrend. He was also Ricci's piano accompanist for many recitals and recordings, and Menuhin's for his first few recordings.
