Crown of Creation is the fourth studio album by the San Francisco psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane, released by RCA Victor in August 1968. The album saw the band continuing their development of psychedelic music, emphasizing acid rock with science fiction themes.
While failing to eclipse Surrealistic Pillow (1967) from a commercial standpoint, the album was a considerable success in comparison to its immediate predecessor, peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard Pop Charts and earning a RIAA gold certification. Its two singles ("Greasy Heart", released in March 1968, followed by the title track in November) were modest hits on the Hot 100 chart. It was voted number 591 in Colin Larkin's All Time Top 1000 Albums 3rd Edition (2000).
Condition Description The Vinyl is described as somewhere between VG+ and Excellent. During today's play-test it easily performed to Excellent & better, below average background & no skips or stops; ... Track A1 plays with average background for a few seconds & then below average after that. There are a reasonable number of fine hairlines & sleeve sleeve-marks to both sides. The Vinyl has retained a truly wonderful glossy lustre. The Cover is in AMAZING SHAPE & I have conservatively graded as VG+ to Excellent. There is some visible edge/spine & corner-wear. There are some fine cracks to spine & edges with associated wrinkles. There is some minor ring wear to front & verso. There are some colour losses to edges & spine. There are some areas of foxing to verso. No seam splits. Couple of minor stains here & there. Previous owner's initials top right verso. Please see attached photos...price rating
