Description

Crown Of Creation is the fourth studio album by the psychedelic rock group from San Francisco. It was released on the RCA Victor Records label in August 1968. The album continues the band’s development of psychedelic music, emphasizing acid rock with science fiction themes. The album was more successful than its predecessor After Bathing At Baxter’s. It rose to #6 on Billboard’s Pop charts and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Two singles were released from the album in “Greasy Heart” and “Crown Of Creation” and were moderately successful on the Hot 100 Singles chart. The album also features the controversial David Crosby track “Triad”, reportedly about a ménage-a-Trois that was rejected for a Byrds album.
