Description
Now working through another well cared-for collection of mostly classic rock tapes with some real gems in it.
Many of these tapes are at the upper end of the price scale; they get described as rare. Most are not rare, but they're in very high demand in good condition, driving prices up, I suspect for the very good reason that it's a completely different experience listening to good used tapes compared to most used records. What a delight listening to these essentially noiseless tapes.
All have been played on both sides on a quality deck, checking for sound quality, good winding and no tape edge distortion. Rock tapes in particular are checked right to the end, given our tendency to ffwd to a favorite track, increasing the risk of little accidents part-way through a tape that a quick check at the beginning will miss. I mean it..... Stairway to Heaven is at the end of side 1 on Led Zep IV, isn't it.
Tapes will be shipped properly packaged.
You can chose Media Mail, First Class (for single tape orders only) or Priority Mail (for one or two tapes). Additional tapes cost 50c each by Media and $1 by Priority. This is Jethro Tull's Aqualung, in my view one of Ian Anderson's top 3, along with Thick As A Brick and Songs From The Wood. Check him out on his current tour (running well into 2018 in Europe) if you can - his playing and energy is still incredible. We'll forgive him a decline in vocal talents. This is as good a 3 3/4 ips tape as I've ever heard - the two quiet tracks on side 2, Mother Goose and my favorite Wond'ring Aloud sound magical with silence in all the right places and great dynamic range, actually even better than the very good example I sold earlier this year. This one was duplicated by Bell and Howell before their tape manufacturing operation was sold to Audio Magnetics.
This is on Reprise RST 2035 B, recorded in 4 track stereo at 3 3/4 ips, all in great shape and very collectable. ----------------------------------
