Description
Jethro Tull – This Was
UK 1st Press – Original Pink Island with Black/Orange ‘Eye’ – Mono
+ Ian Anderson’s Signature
Included on an Invitation Card As part of this unique offer!
Catalogue Number: ILP 985 A/ILP 985 B
Year of Release: 1968
Vinyl: Vg+ / The clean glossy surface displays only some minor hairlines and the occasional mark, which does not affect play. The rough textured labels show minimal signs of wear and have no unwanted names written on them etc.
Cover: Vg+ / Like many original copies of this LP, this copy was issued in a Wide Spine laminated Gatefold sleeve measuring 9mm. The cover itself is very clean, with little regarding wear. The only reason this cover isn’t graded higher is because of slight damage due to it’s Wide Spine: on the inside of the sleeve the area around the spine area is slightly raised on the side that houses the record, thus leaving three areas on the back cover where the lamination has separated from the cardboard. The lamination itself hasn’t split at all and hasn’t effected the picture on the back in any way.
Invitation Card with Signature: This card measures 17.5cm in height by 12cm and hopefully is explained best from my scan of it. It clearly shows on the inside that Ian Anderson was performing at this venue. On the back of the card is where Ian Anderson has signed this clearly reading ‘Hello Veretea Ian Anderson Jethro Tull’. Although this invite was nothing to do with me, judging by the information on the card alone, I have no reason to doubt its authenticity. Unfortunately although there is a date on the front, this doesn’t include the year on which this took place. The card itself is in fine condition, particularly where the signature is. With only slight discolouration from age.
Don’t miss this one off opportunity to own not only this nice example of this more desirable mono LP, but the unique chance to have the autograph of this bands most colourful frontman.
