Description
Hyper rare jazz from 1960 on the collectable Esquire label. This is a vintage slice of hard bop, with tenor sax genius John Coltrane joined by The Red Garland Trio.
This hardly EVER turns up, so bear with the fact that condition is a mixed bag.
The flimsy sleeve has held together but is tatty – there is damage to the lower flipback, plenty of laminate peeling and nips and nibbles here and there. It grades Good+ to VG.
The heavyweight vinyl plays better than it looks – there is surface noise that is most noticeable at the start of each side, some tics and bops but no jumps or skips. For the most part the music comes through strong so it's still an enjoyable listen, if not for audiophiles. I'd grade it Good+ to VG-.
The labels are in solid shape with some minor wear.
It comes with it's original shaped plastic inner, but I've put the vinyl in a period lined inner sleeve in nice condition for better protection.
Hugely sought after, very collectable and a very desirable item for jazz fans, even in this condition. Offers are welcome, and I'm starting it at 99p, but there is a sensible reserve.
