John Sangster ORIG OZ LP Paradise Volume one NM 73 Trinity TR1002 Jazz Soul Funk
Rare original OZ LP released in 1973 on Trinity REcords. Cat: TR1002. Comes in a gatefold sleeve.. Caomes with 14 page full colour booklet which is in Excellent condition.In 1973, Australian jazz legend John Sangster was commissioned to write a soundtrack for a tourist film to promote Surfer's Paradise. The resultant album was a truly remarkable suite that transcended its humble origins. Features such greats as: Don Burrows, George Golla, Errol Buddle, Renee Geyer and Kerrie Biddell. The music ranges from gentle bossa nova, to funky wah-wah guitar wig-outs, to 70's bachelor pad lounge-core, with many tracks featuring field recordings of local wildlife and nature - giving the album a uniquely Australian feel.
Tracks : Sunrise in paradise/ Surf’s up at Surfers paradise/ Gilltraps auto museum/ Boy meets girl/ Surfers paradise meter maids/ In the rain forest/ Gold coaster/ Currumbin bird sanctuary/ Dolphins/ Water ballet/ Lion safari/ Gemstones and wildflowers/ Paradise at night. There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record is in Near Mint condition. Gatefold cover has some ring wear, light age spots and some tiny surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brYoshikazu own paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
