HISTORY
This 4-track 7" EP was recorded at the Pennine Sound Studio, Oldham in December 1977 when the band were still known as WARSAW. It was eventually released in the summer of 1978 on the bands' own Enigma label, despite them not being happy with the sound quality, after the band name change to Joy Division.
This was their first official relase and before signing to the legendary Factory Records label.
Formed after the Sex Pistols concert in Manchester, June 4th 1976
There first gig was at The Electric Circus in Manchester, 29 May 1977

Lead singer Ian Curtis and drummer Stephen Morris come from Macclesfield
Guitarist Bernard Sumner and bassist Peter Hook hail from Salford
The sleeve, which showed a controversial image of a Hitler Youth drumming boy alongside the 'Joy Division!' name, folds out into a 14" x 14" poster sleeve which was designed by band guitarist Bernard Albrecht (nee Sumner). Legend has it that the band had to fold the sleeves and add the vinyl 7"s themselves!

The matt black underlating label has silver lettering with the catalogue number PSS139
Serrated edge the full circumference of the vinyl is 1mm from lettering

The vinyl itself shows few signs of being played,excellent condition looks mint in appearance, the actual sound recording quality is classed as poor(this is how it was originally printed), hence the reason that it was re-released on 12" vinyl for superior clarity.
The black & white sleeve folds out into a 1-sided 14" x 14" 'poster'. The overall condition is excellent with very light discolouration.Exquisite condition Heavy stock quality paper.Seriously the best i,ve ever seen.
