Description

This is the UK release of the one and only LP by Khan on Deram in 1972. It is highly regarded as one of the classic LPs of the early 70s prog period, and is a model of guitar and keyboard interplay. The standard of musicianship as well as the level of creativity is very high throughout and contains some of Steve Hillage's and Dave Stewart's finest moments on vinyl. Though this is often quoted as a good example of the Canterbury sound, the connection to that city is very slight - Steve Hillage was at the University of Kent prior to forming the band. It is really Dave Stewart's fuzz-toned organ work that provides that perception, as there are similarities to the sound that Dave Sinclair (Caravan) and Mike Ratledge (Soft Machine) used at the time. The band slip in and out of odd time signatures (such as 13/8, 5/4 and 11/8) with ease and makes this is an excellent example of how well this can be done without throwing the listener off balance. Overall, this is an essential record of the era.

Condition: Vinyl is in VG++ condition, with very good shine, no scratches, and no wear. There are no surface marks, and just a few spindle marks. It plays extremely well, very clean with just a little occasional surface noise.

Sleeve is VG+. Slight ring wear on the front, but worse on the back. No tears or sticker marks.
