Track Listings:

AUTOBAHN
Kraftwerk's modern pop legacy starts with this impressionistic excursion down Germany's famed superhighway. The rhythmic synth pulse that carries the title track is a sonic revelation while co-founder Florian Schneider's flute work and other more delicate melodic touches hearken back to the band's prog-rock foundations as do the atmospheric "Kometenmelodie 1 & 2," "Mitternacht" and "Morgenspaziergang." The impact of this album is so strong that Spin magazine includes it in their list of the 15 most influential albums not recorded by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Elvis or the Rolling Stones.

RADIO-ACTIVITY
Originally released in 1975, Kraftwerk's ethereal tribute to broadcast communications was the centerpiece in-between Autobahn and Trans Europe Express, a trilogy of masterworks that found the band at their artistic pinnacle. The sweeping synth melodies are in full futuristic force here and Radio-Activity is a pivotal and mesmerizing album in every way. At the time Trouser Press magazine stated that Radio-Activity marks an important step in Kraftwerk's artistic progress, converting the band into "ultramodern sonic engineers."

TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS
On Trans Europe Express, Kraftwerk celebrates a romantic, retro future of shimmering elegance and glistening decadence where travel and technology merge across infinite sonic vistas. Performed by the quartet of Hütter, Schneider, Flür and Karl Bartos, Trans Europe Express is one of the most inspired electronically-based pop records of all time and stands as arguably the quintessential Kraftwerk sound recording experience. This milestone in avant-pop modernism later becomes a crucial influence on the early pioneers of hip-hop and sampling, electro and industrial music. Add this to your collection for true inspiration!

THE MAN MACHINE

The 1978 synth-pop album The Man•Machine is classic mid-period Kraftwerk and it's the group's most commercially successful release. A bold new look, sound and concept as Kraftwerk fully realize their clever use of melody and technology over supple processed rhythms predating the rise of European techno and trance. The Man•Machine is so stunningly ahead of its time that "The Model" becomes a surprise UK #1 chart-topper three years after the album's initial release.
