LARRY NORMAN ACETATE / LACQUER RECORD - - NEVER BEFORE HEARD

This is the rarest Larry Norman item that has ever been made available to the public. ONLY ONE IS IN EXISTENCE. This one.

It's an acetate / lacquer disc that was hand cut in the studio the day Larry recorded the song at the Capitol Records Building on Vine Street in Hollywood. The producer was Hal Yoergler who later produced Upon This Rock. The session engineer typed "Larry David" as the singer, but it's actually Larry David Norman.

It was never pressed, released, or circulated, and has never been heard by anyone other than the people present in the studio when it was recorded, and the Solid Rock folks when it was discovered a few days ago. It is pretty awesome and for awhile we debated letting it go to auction.

ABOUT ACETATE DISCS - From Wikipedia: Unlike ordinary vinyl records, which are quickly formed from lumps of plastic by a mass-production molding process, a so-called acetate disc is created by using a recording lathe to cut a sound-modulated groove into the surface of a special lacquer-coated blank disc, a real-time operation requiring expensive, delicate equipment and expert skill for good results. They are made for special purposes, almost never for sale to the general public. They can be played on any normal phonograph but will be degraded by wear much more quickly than vinyl. Some acetates are highly prized for their rarity, especially when they contain unpublished material. - An acetate from The Velvet Underground containing music that would later appear on their first album sold on eBay in 2006 for $25,200.
