Description
Here is the debut album of Led Zeppelin in 1969. This is the original first pressing with turquoise lettering. There was approx 2,000 original records pressed with this color. And how many can you find in really decent condition like this copy? Not many and my reserve is pretty low compared to other copies for sale. The story goes that when Peter Grant the manager saw the color turquoise on jacket. The color was not appropiate for a hard rock band. FYI Peter Grant was Led Zeppelins backer. And he paid for the studio time to make this album. It took 36 studio hours in total. They did this to avoid any record company interference. And to make a record the way they wanted to make it.
The vinyl play grades excellent with no skips or stops. Still has great shine and luster with very minor superficial marks sleeve wear. I am grading vinyl VG++ to E. The labels are very clean with minor spindle wear. B side label has minor stain above 1969 and look at Led Zeppelin can also see minor blemish look at last photo.
Original dust sleeve has heavy toning still in VG condition with writing on one side. I am a collector and record is stored in MOFI dust sleeve. Outside of jacket in 4 mil sealable sleeve. I do not store records in jackets to preserve jackets from ring wear and splits. All records played on Technic SL 1200 MK11 turntable with Ortofon stylus.
The jacket is VG+ with no rips or splits. Its a laminated jacket thats very light. Can see the laminated cover pulled back by edge opening see photo. And added photo of minor wrinkles on front sleeve. Sold as is. All sales are final.
