LED ZEPPELIN II A5/B4 Atlantic 58818 UK 1969 Red/Plum LABEL
This is the UK release of their 2nd LP from 1969.  This is a transitional issue in that 'The Lemon Song' is on the gatefold credits but 'The Killing Floor' is on the label.  It also has the 'Livin' Lovin' Maid' credit.
Jimmy Page production credit on the label and gatefold and Peter Grant as the Executive Producer on the gatefold only.

I would grade the vinyl as Ex (although Ex+ in many sections)
The gatefold cover is VG+
The labels are Near Mint
The original inner sleeve is Ex
Visual grading
Under a bright light I can only detect a few faint hairlines.  Visually it remains in great condition with a strong glossy sheen and whilst there is some spindle wear it has obviously been handled well as there are no scratches or marks.  It also lies perfectly flat on the turntable.
Play grading
The classic 'Whole Lotta Love' has almost no lead in static.  It then proceeds to play with very clear audio with just the odd touch of static and 2/3 light clicks.  The remainder of the side plays very well with just light static in a few places and a handful of 'dust tics'.  A little distortion perhaps but overall this is excellent audio and I have to say the quiet sections play extremely well with barely any static.
Side Two plays with extremely clear audio.  'Heart Breaker' plays with great clarity, very little interference and 'Livin' Lovin' Maid' plays in similar fashion but with a couple of clicks.  'Ramble On' plays superbly from the start with no static/crackle but does have one louder pop about 30 seconds in.  The remainder of the track has fabulous audio.  'Moby Dick' plays in exceptional style with only a handful of light clicks.  The final track has some light crackle at the beginning and then plays very well with perhaps just a little distortion, a few light clicks towards the end.
The more I listen to this vinyl the more it impresses me!  For a 47 years old it plays with excellent quality and yes there is a little interference here and there but it is not intrusive.  It certainly plays better than so many other red/plum versions do.
Gatefold cover
The E.J. Day gatefold does have some rubbing/wear to the edges and spine but there are no marks or writing anywhere.  The inside of the gatefold is extremely clean.
Poly-lined inner sleeve
The original 'Plastic Bags Can Be Dangerous' inner has no major wear at all.  No splits to the edges, just some creasing and age related marks and a couple of small 'nicks'.
