Description

  • Led Zeppelin released their third studio album "Led Zeppelin III" in October 1970 on Atlantic Records. It was a huge hit and went to No. 1 on both the U.S. and U.K. charts. "Immigrant Song" was a hit single but the album is also noted for its more acoustic material like "Gallows Pole."

  • This copy of (SD 7201) is from the First Pressing more than 50-years-ago and includes the original Volvelle (pinwheel) gatefold cover designed by Zacron that is in excellent condition. It shows some minor edge wear but is easily VG+. Please see the pictures, but note that the photo of the volvelle wheel is from another copy. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered at Atlantic Studios in NYC and the lacquer was cut by Paul Richmond at Mastercraft in Memphis. This copy was pressed for Record Club Of America by Presswell Records Mfg. Co. in Ancora, N.J. The Side One dead wax is etched ST-A-702005-A (1) one Mastercraft PR -So Mote Be It- AT.

  • In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

  • Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 51 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
