Description
Hello my name is Brian and I have been a vinyl fan for many years now and have always bought and sold items to feed my vinyl passion...I have never been a dealer but will always describe my items for sale as honestly and accurately as possible with plenty of clear and detailed pictures. I do my best to insure there is no disappointment when you receive your item/s.
If you read my ebay feed back as a seller you will see that people are happy with what they receive from my auctions. I try not to waffle on about how rare an item is using silly expressions such as "AWESOME" or "IMPOSSIBLE LIKE THIS" etc etc (yawn yawn)!
I am very particular about packaging the vinyl. I use cruciform boxes with cardboard stiffeners and bubble wrap for extra protection for LP's. The vinyl is always packaged outside of the sleeve to prevent seem splits. I use stiff envelopes with extra card stiffeners for 7" singles/EP's. I am happy to post any where in the world if fully insured and the cost will depend on the final selling value, so....

I recommend extra insurance for the more valuable items (over £40), it only costs a couple of pounds and is well worth it in my opinion. I will NOT post items over seas without full insurance.
I use the 'RECORD COLLECTOR' grading system with a + or - where appropriate.

FIRST ISSUE CRITERIA:
Box Cover: The outer cover is of a top loading ‘box’ construction of thick ridged card with the following text printed on the back, top centre:
SWAN SONG / 484 KINGS ROAD, LONDON SW10
Cullderstead Ltd., trading as Swan Song
A Swan Song/Atlantic recording distributed by WEA Records Ltd., ? & © 1975
The group name, record title and catalogue number run down the left hand side spine, viewed from the front, these are printed in RED.
Inner Slip Cover: The gatefold ‘slip’ insert credits “Gothic Print Finishers Ltd., London SE9 2EQ” as the printers, along with the Swan Song SSK 89400 catalogue number and the address “SWAN SONG, 484 KINGS ROAD, LONDON SW10”
Inner Sleeves: The Inner sleeves are printed on thick card with a natural untreated grey finish to the inside surfaces. They have SSK 89400/A and SSK 89400/B respectively on the back (bottom right corner) of each of the inners. Later issues were thinner card with a smooth finish to the inside.
Labels: The labels are the easiest identifying factors for an original UK 1st issue as they should be clearly marked “Made in UK” but most importantly have NO small circular WB (Warner Brothers) Logo at the end of the bottom rim text. The WB logo was introduced onto the label in mid 1975 just a few months after the release, so any label with the WB logo is not from the very first batch of pressings
A3, B4, C1,D1 Matrix endings.
Vinyl.......
Record 1, both sides look stunning, deep black shine as new look, some wispy hairlines caused by the inner sleeve. No deep scratches or blemishes. Very clean and fresh looking. Play back is very strong and full sounding with no distortion or loss of quality. Great separation and stereo sound stage. EX+
Record 2, both sides look very nice indeed, deep black shine, more obvious signs of play than record 1, with more, obvious hair lines but NO deep scratches that cause clicks or jumps or sticking. The play through is as good as record some minor background 1. Superb. EX
Labels......All 4 labels in MINT condition, with NO writing, NO spider lines.
Sleeve.......Fabulous condition considering the fragile and complex construction.
No splits, No unwanted writing, No stains, No stickers or sticker damage, No sticker residue, No repairs or taped edges. The outer box has No damage to the cut outs and no splits to the seems there is minor wear to the opening edges and a tiny amount of corner wear, just starting to feather at the top corners. The spine is sharp and fully readable, the 'L' on Led is lightly rubbed but not rubbed out. EX+
Both inner sleeves are correct and in MINT condition.
The gatefold insert is correct and undamaged with just minor signs of it's age EX+
