Description
"LESTER YOUNG" released on NORGRAN RECORDS (MGN 1022) in 1955, was the great Saxophonist's second 12" release on Norgran, after a series of 10" releases on Cleff and 2 on Norgran. See Scan 3 for musicians and songtitles (and condition!). This is one of the first batch of Lester Young LPs that I am putting up over the next week, with this 1 of 4 Norgran LPs and Covers in STUNNING NM and NM+ shape! THEY ARE ALL FIRST PRESSINGS!
The LP is in strong NEAR MINT (NM+) condition, and appears that it has been played rarely if ever judging by the lack of visible spindle marks on the labels, with 2 or 3 visible sleeve marks on each side and on Side 2 a couple of pressings spots which on playing leave No noticeable affect, with no other scratches or marks on the clean, great looking vinyl. On spot playing both sides there is no background/surface noise, playing completely clean with a very occasional light tick. The classic yellow "trumpet" Norgran first pressing labels (Scan 4) are in NM shape.
The Cover is also in strong NEAR MINT condition, with all seams fully intact, the corners generally sharp with a couple of light wrinkles on the top 2, and the front and back showing just very light wear. Nice!
