Classic STEREO last album on Vertigo swirl records, this is the rarest by some distance. This is the one most collectors want and is regarded as a mini-classic blending blues with progressive elements. This very heavy pressing on the original labels is one of the earliest ever made and it plays beautifully. With no surface blemishes on the record it has faired well for its considerable vintage, all evidence strongly suggests very few plays. The flimsy lightweight cover has also survived the years well.

Cover Grade : VG+ still highly attractive. A gatefold unlaminated sleeve made with very thin and soft card, this bends easily and should not be held on any single corner.

Front only: There is no rim wear which is amazing with a 160 gram record inside for nearly 40 years.
Gatefold: EX with strong inner unbroken spine
Rear: v light sign of ringwear (see photo)
Top Edge: Usual shelf wear

Bottom Edge: Usual shelf wear.
Opening: Quite sharp with no wear and no feathering.
Spine and Text: Incredibly thin again, compressed or not, not sure. As solid and straight as could be expected. All text is perfect and unworn but wear in between lettering.
Corners: The corners are neat but with the usual minor wear.
Cover Summary: A very fine all round example of this very fragile early 70’s cover, one that will prove difficult to find much better. This still looks attractive with any flaws or wear modest and light, it should please many collectors but not the perfectionists of course. Do not underestimate just how delicate, light and flimsy this highly damage-prone cover is, made even more so with a very heavy record inside.

Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: EX+ with no obvious surface marks under natural outside light. Finding a genuine first pressed better copy of this elusive Vertigo classic will prove hard. A super visual copy that is super clean, shiny, intense black and very heavily pressed. A copy with only light use on all the evidence. Visually a super record that should please many collectors. The blemish on the label is where a sticker was removed

Sound Quality and Audio Grading: The record plays faultlessly. This wonderful record plays even above its high visual grading with nothing to fault. Strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear - sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. Few copies will outperform this very early pressing significantly I feel sure. Both channels are clean and sharp, I am certain this record has been played very lightly and has been carefully handled. These vintage albums rarely escape a few faint surface blemishes or hairlines and this example sets the bar high. Nothing spoilt my pleasure when play-grading this wonderful record. This copy will prove very difficult to find significantly better and can be strongly recommended. If the quality of the sound and music is a priority over minor cover blemishes, this could be the copy you have been waiting for.
