THE WHO - BBC SESSIONS LIVE - DOUBLE LP SET ORIGINAL POLYDOR 2000 U.K. RELEASE - Limited Edition analog Vinyl U.K. pressing - OVER A DECADE OUT OF PRINT AND A MUST FOR ALL WHO FANS
One of the most creative and explosive bands of the '60s. The Who didn't record an official live album until 1970. For fans of the revved-up, introspective, and humorous fare that made records such as My Generation, Sell Out, and A Quick One instant classics, 1970 was a good three years too late. Rather than referring to sometimes-dodgy bootlegs to discover what "Pictures of Lily," "Disguises," or "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" sounded like live, we are now presented with a surprisingly clear document of the band at--arguably--their peak. A fabulous portrait of the artists as a young band, the disc brims with minor revelations--chief among them that they were pretty sorry as an R&B outfit and that (surprise) with Moon, Entwhistle, and Townshend bashing about, even a mid-tempo number like "Happy Jack" was a total scorcher live.
The band blazes through these songs so fast -- and you thought the Ramones and the Minutemen invented that kind of lightning-speed concision -- that it's easy to miss how perfectly constructed they are. The Who's sound rests on the tension between carefully defined pop-song structures pushed to the breaking point by the band's propulsive, chaotic power. Singer Roger Daltrey and bassist John Enthwhistle are hardly slouches, but guitarist Pete Townshend and drummer Keith Moon are true wonders. They wail with such unrestrained glee that they frequently threaten to blow these songs apart. Then, by some miracle, they land in time, and the song ends. All that in two-and-a-half minutes -- with lovely, Beach Boys-derived vocal harmonies to boot. That's why it's earned the right to be called classic rock -- and why this disc is such an unadulterated pleasure from start to finish.

Artists covered include Chuck Berry, Arthur Alexander, Buddy Holly And The Crickets, The Shirelles, Carl Perkins, and many others. and many you've never heard them ever sing on any LP)

RADIO TYMES FROM THE BBC - Limited Edition of Only 500 Copies Worldwide!
Remastered From Reel-to-Reel Tapes & BBC Transcription Discs! Pressed on 180g Vinyl!
Radio Tymes is an absolutely stunning compilation ablum of un-released BBC Archive material from the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Deep Purple, The Yardbirds with Jimmy Page and more!!!
Sourced from proficiently recorded reel-to-reel tapes and BBC transcription discs, Radio Tymes presents very rare and desirable recordings from some of the '60s major players, and indeed some groups who would find wider acclaim during the following decade.
A band still going strong today, Radio Tymes rewinds back to the early days of Deep Purple with the discovery of their first live performance ever broadcast on British radio in mid 1968, as well as an incendiary number from the last session by the original line-up. Superb recordings from The Yardbirds' final BBC session in 1968, including the legendary 'Dazed And Confused' featuring Jimmy Page on guitar, finally appear in excellent quality, and unbelievably a document of Jimi Hendrix singing live on Simon Dee's Dee Time TV programme has surfaced which has not been heard anywhere since 1967.
Two great tunes by The Move from the first ever Top Gear provide ample proof as to why they are regarded as one of the most revered groups of the era, and from the very same programme psychedelic heroes Tomorrow with Keith West play their underground anthem 'My White Bicycle'. The live version of 'Sabre Dance' that initiated Love Sculpture's top ten single accompanies two other fantastic covers from their colourful repertoire, and Barclay James Harvest add more fuel to the fire with the quite perfect and upbeat 'Night'.
All the music has been professionally restored, with the Deep Purple tunes having been worked on at Abbey Road Studios no less, and the results of restoring music from old reel-to-reel tapes in particular is startling to say the least. Radio Tymes is a legitimate collection licensed from the BBC and the relevant record companies.

YES SOMETHING'S COMING: THE BBC RECORDINGS 1969-70 180g 2LP - The group formed in the summer of 1968 in London by vocalist Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire were joined by guitarist Peter Banks, drummer Bill Bruford and organist Tony Kay, and the band became Yes. Their eponymous debut was released the following year, and the vocal harmonies of Anderson and Squire and early progressive sound made them an immediate success. In 1970 the band released their second album, the somewhat less successful "A Time And A Word", backed by a full orchestra. During this period the band also made a number of live appearances for BBC radio where, given the freedom of a less formal setting, the performances have a more spontaneous, less structured sound than on many of their studio recordings from the same period.
Although most Yes fans would cite the early seventies as the band’s most classic period, these early recordings give listeners a glimpse of what led up to that classic sound that so defined the progressive era and is the only live release to feature the original Yes line-up. These recordings also represent the only live release to feature the original Yes lineup. Includes an amazing version of "Every Little Thing" plus dramatic cover versions of the Beatles and Stephen Stills, and the rare Yes original - and previously unreleased - "For Everyone". Also features liner notes by guitarist Peter Banks who over saw the original 1998 release of these recordings.
