SS - Factory Sealed Unplayed Record
NM - Has no marks or surface noise, full gloss and clean labels. Covers will have no addressable wear, crisp seams and corners.
EX - Very close to NM but might have only LIGHT surface marks only visible under bright light. Covers show only the slightest shelf wear.
VG+ - Disk might have superficial marks that do NOT affect play, has NO audible scratches. Might have rare occasional dust ticks audible between tracks. A well kept record that shows normal but careful use. Cover shows it's age but has no serious ring wear or splits.
VG - Means VERY GOOD. In realistic condition, but has NO deep scratches, skips or annoying surface noise. May have light surface sound between tracks and quiet areas. Plays very good for an old record. Covers might have ring wear, minor splits and even writing, but is still presentable or can be easily restored.
G - Is an old used record that still plays good without skips. Jacket still holds the record and is not torn up or stained but may have tape or writing on cover.
