Description

An acetate test record of Larry Norman's song "Sigrid Jane". It sounds like the version that appeared on his album Street Level, though the mix might be different. Such is the nature of acetates.

Sigrid Jane Woodhouse was my babysitter from when I was three years old until I was five or six. She was cool. She called her car "The Beige Bomb". One time when I was acting-up in her car on the way to Vasona Park she told me that if I didn't settle down she was going to press the ejection seat button and I would be thrown high above the roadway. When I expressed doubt that she actually had an ejection seat, she made me look underneath the passenger seat. Sure enough, there were coiled springs there, just like there were in every car from the 1960s. Although they were just shock absorbers, I believed they were coils for the ejection seat. I remember it clearly.

I settled down.

Larry thought she was hilarious. He wrote a song about her. This is it.

She later married Dick Blaine, making her Sigrid Jane Blaine. Then she became a Scientologist.

Not hilarious.

By the way, the word "Scientologist" is a word that eBay's spellchecker doesn't recognize.
