Description

An original 1971 Red & Plum copy of Zep II on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A6/B4. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by Ernest J Day. Also included is an original 'Headhunters' inner sleeve from 1971. So, 100% genuine an 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has clearly only seen the lightest of use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side. One mark is longish and traverses track 1 - this mark is not feelable and so, thankfully, is relatively superficial. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is very minor. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Yes, it really is that good. I have only auditioned a couple of Zep II's at this level and they are not an easy find. The mark in track 1 has been thoroughly tested - we can only just pick out a couple of crackles. But this is barely audible and extremely brief. Other than this one very minor issue playback is of the very highest standard obtainable. Even those quiet passage before a wall of guitars are very clean and quiet. This is one of the cleanest copies I've had the pleasure to audition..an absolute cracker!
Cover (Ex) Zep II covers are famously difficult to find in decent condition. This example has survived the years in extremely rude health! The front is almost totally free of the usual wear and tear. The only thing we can spot is a couple of flecks in the white area, but even this section is unusually well preserved. A touch more handling wear noticeable on the rear, but still in remarkable condition. The interior is in perfect condition with very lightest handling. Edge wear is unusually light - just take a look at the spine. This could well be one of the best looking spines I've ever seen. Super light wear, no fading, and all text very clear and legible. Overall the cover retains prefect rigidity and lies totally flat. A fantastic example and one that would be nigh on impossible to better.
Inner (Vg+) The inner poly bag is missing [detached]. Mostly unaged apart from a tiny section at the opening. Both fascias are nice and clean without heavy creasing. Below 'Get A Head' someone has written 'Zeppelin 2'. Both sides have a one inch split.
