Description
An original Xmas 1971 copy of Zep II on UK Atlantic Red & Plum. Matrix A6/B4. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original dark-brown [correct for this period] E J Day printed cover. Also included is the highly collectable Headhunter inner sleeve from the time and the 'plastic bag warning' inner date coded 11/71. Both inners are original to the Xmas release period '71 - we're just including both to cover all the bases! So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In truly superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. If you want to hear your Zep on original Red & Plum and sounding as clean as a whistle - this is YOUR copy! Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It really is one of the best auditions I've witnessed....original Red & Plum will sound amazing if it has been looked after. And this copy is beautifully preserved. All we could detect interference wise were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments, and one minor tick in 'L-L-Maid' and two in the closing seconds of 'Ramble'. A total joy to behold - listen to those vocal echoes...hear Bonham's drums...and the guitars distort - they way they were meant too! This is the REAL DEAL...
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been looked after. Nice and clean front without ageing - do expect some light handling, but way better than most copies that surface. Nice clean rear too just some light ring wear, but generally in well above average condition. The interior looks great - no issue. There's some edge wear in places, but nothing heavy. The spine is in great shape too with all text still visible - unusual. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A lovely early example...
Inner HH (Ex) No splits or writing. Just very light ageing at extremities.
Inner PB (Ex) No splits or writing. Very little ageing.
