Led Zeppelin IV 4 LP 1st UK Orange & Green MEGA AUDIO*** [Ex/Ex-]

Description

An early Zep IV that plays great...and doesn't cost the earth. When you listen to a copy like this which is high quality and, in reality,, just as close to the original masters as a red & plum copy...it does beg the question,,,. Why would you ever pay more than £50 for a great original ZepIV! Well worth taking a closer look I'd say.>>>
This Zep IV copy comes from Jan 1972 - just days after the last red & plum copies. Matrix A3/B4. Stamped both sides with the original catalogue number..2401012 ...In fact its so close that the audio is actually identical to a final red & plum.its the original George Peckham cut!. So a copy like this makes for an excellent compromise for someone looking for some early magic - without having to shell out major $$$$ Note - labels do not mention Warners in the perimeter and text is all found in the southern half of the label - these are the very 1st orange and green copies. 'Misty Mountain Top' typo still exhibiting. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original early heavy-card gatefold cover. We also have a textured inner, and one they haven't even got round to adding the new catalogue number on yet....It's white rather than grey. I have no reason to think this inner didn't originate with this exact record...
Vinyl (Ex) Very well preserved and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing reveals an at least EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of spots. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. All I'm getting is 4-5 slight ticks right at the outset of the intro to Evermore and one isolated click later in the same track - but the track actually plays RIDICULOUSLY good..i.e. MOST copies never get near to this clean feed.. Stairway PLAYS CLEAN....even that mega fussy intro. Nine out of ten original copies never manage that. Always THE most difficult tracks to find playing perfectly clean. The same is true of California too...this track is mega fussy. Apart from one solitary tick in the opening seconds - it practically plays perfect. I have NEVER heard it better....Highly accomplished. A couple of slightest ticks in 'MMH'. Highly recommended. Well worth the money to get you close to those original OCT71 masters.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition with really well preserved surfaces. Slightest edge wear and a very small ding at bottom of opening edge. The interior looks really nice. The spine exhibits minimal wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and has clearly been looked after.
Inner (Ex-) One small edge split has been internally taped up. Looks real smart tho...
