Description

led zeppelin - led zeppelin III, atlantic 2401002. extremely rare first issue of this album released in 1970, with the plum and red labels, the catalogue number as one long number with no break in the middle, and "produced by jimmy page, executive producer peter grant" wording underneath the album title at the top of the labels. the cover is the glossy gatefold with the diecut circular wheel on the front which is extremely clean. the only drawbacks i can find are a possible very slight yellowing of the extreme edges of the spines edge and along the top of the back. there is also a small discolouration mark to the bottom right corner of the back, which is very minor but equally very frustrating. the record itself has a brilliant bright sheen to the surface and only feint hairline marks dotted about from play, nothing serious and certainly nothing that would affect play. it is a strong ex with lovely clean labels. the marks on the inside spine - in the photo - is glue from the inside of the cover.

i forgot possibly the most important bit..the matrices!

Side A: 2401002 A 6 OPL "Do what thou wilt" all hand etched (without the quotations), L1 machine stamped backwards, and a very small machine stamped 4,
Side B: 2401002 B-5 GHC "So mote it be" all hand etched (without the quotations), L1 machine stamped backwards, and a very small machine stamped 8.
to the best of my eyesight thats what i can read, the 3 letter signatures may differ slightly from what i can see but theyre always a bit rough and the point is they are there. hopefully this clears up any questions about just how authentic they are.
