Lee Morgan: THE COOKER. Mono BLUE NOTE 1578 FIRST PRESSING. Deep groove 47 West 63rd NYC label is MINT. RVG and ear stamped in run-off vinyl on both sides. The hefty vinyl is brilliantly luminous and completely unblemished and plays as good as it looks. Looks NEAR MINT. Plays NEAR MINT. The cover is factory fresh with no defects. Recorded on September 29, 1957, this copy is in dream condition and never needs to be upgraded. In other words, no better copy exists. It features Lee Morgan, Pepper Adams, Bobby Timmons, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. Purchased in the early 1980s from the legendary collection of Leon Levitt, who allowed me to come to his home and hand-pick it from his other copies. A flawless record.
