Description
From the archives of a noted Australian rock’n’roll and entertainment historian comes this SUPER RARE piece of Australian rock music history. Lynne Randell. I’ve Got A Notion 45 Single single-sided TEST PRESSING. Australian pressing 1965 EMI Studios, Sydney. British-born, emigrated with her family to Melbourne at the age of five in 1954. In her early teens, started singing with the Spinning Wheels and developed a friendship with Molly Meldrum. This test pressing appears to have been recorded in April 1965; Randell had signed with EMI and her first single, I’ll Come Running Over, was released in February. I’ve Got A Notion is a version of Mary Wells’ Motown song, recorded by Australia’s most popular female singers of the mid-1960s. It may have been intended as a follow-up single to Randell’s debut but it doesn’t appear as if it was ever released. It was included on the 1986 Raven compilation, Lynne Randell – Dynamic. Cat numbers (A Side) 7MV.2484 and 7XAA.1617. Record in Very Good Plus condition Generic paper sleeve. SHIPPING: Owing to problems with international shipping, all international packages to the UK and Europe will be sent Express Air Mail. For Asia, the US and New Zealand, Standard Air Mail should be OK. The eBay postage calculator will automatically calculate at Express rates but if in doubt contact me and we’ll work something out. Check my other auctions for rarities and extremities including RARE Aust and international garage, R&B, soul, punk, and – this week – a whole heap of Australian female singers.
