MANTIS - "Mantis" LP
OK collectors, here it is! A sealed copy of the incredibly rare Mantis LP from 1982.
From the same musical genius who gave us the great "Night Blindness" album of 1987, this was Earl Valentine's first band. They played a phenomenal style of bombastic pomp that was filled with huge juicy keyboards, with a sound very much like Styx and very similar to other well known pomp indies like Sugarcreek, Level, Lion and Zon. This lost jewel was a mega micro-pressing, with only 200 copies manufactured back in 1980 and never re-pressed or re-issued on any other format. The LP is sealed and in perfect condition. There is a very small tear in the cellophane dead center of the front of the jacket that caused a very slight smudge on the cover (see close up photo). Very minor and would still grade quite high to even the most scrutinizing of collectors.
The last copy I listed on eBay went for $325.00! I was very lucky to score one more and am offering it up for considerably less and am taking offers as well, so don't be shy!
