Marc Brierley – Welcome To The Citadel

Marc Brierley (born 9 October 1944) is an English singer songwriter who was active as a performing musician between 1965 and 1973. Between 1966 and 1970 he wrote, performed and recorded one EP – 1966, Marc Brierley; one LP – 1968, Welcome to the Citadel; a second LP – 1969, Hello produced by Ashley Kozak. In 1965, on the encouragement of Bert Jansch, Marc became a regular at Les Cousins folk club in Greek Street London, playing alongside regular performers such as John Renbourn, Sandy Denny, Al Stewart and Trevor Lucas. rom 1970 to 1973, Marc Brierley continued song writing and performed live throughout the UK with guitarist Steve Cross, culminating in a UK autumn tour as Fairport Convention's support act. At the end of 1973 he ceased professional musical activity.
Up for auction is this rare and collectable original UK pressing of Marc Brierley’s first album, Welcome To The Citadel, released by CBS records in 1968. It has a few, mostly superficial, marks on the vinyl but it still sounds great. See condition description below.

The album is on CBS Records, S 63478. Matrix side one: SBPG 63478 A1 (stamped). Matrix side two: SBPG 63478 B1 (stamped).

Condition: (as Record Collector's grading system)
Vinyl side 1: very good (has a few mostly superficial marks and plays with two light clicks at the start of track one and one light click at the end, also one light click near the start of the last track but definitely nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still sounds great, that apart plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: very good (has a few mostly superficial marks and plays with the very odd light click on track one, also three clicks at the start of track three but definitely nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still sounds great, that apart plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (front laminated): very good (a few small laminate creases mainly around the edges, small bit of laminate lift at bottom of spine edge, a few grubby marks/stains on back).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
