MAY BLITZ s/t TOP MINTY VINYL! 1970 Hard Progressive Psych Trio M-
1970/Canada/Paramount Records PAS 5020….. here’s a clean original pressing of their heavy first lp. The uni-pack gatefold cover is in nice strong VG+ to VG++ condition with light corner dings/wear, light shelf wear/aging, there is a delete hole lower left corner, sticker on back cover, light spotty spine/edge wear, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits. The vinyl is in M- like new condition and looks Unplayed! Clean labels have no spindle marks. A Keeper copy of this rare lp. Please check my auctions for other psych, prog, and rock lp’s. The group was formed in 1969 by bassist Terry Poole and drummer Keith Baker, the rhythm section of the blues-rock trio Bakerloo, both of whom left the group when guitarist Clem Clempson departed to join Colosseum. Jamie Black joined the group on vocals and guitars but both Poole and Baker left this group as well before it recorded anything, Poole joining Vinegar Joe and Baker Uriah Heep. Black then added fellow Canadian Reid Hudson on bass and Tony Newman, who had played with Jeff Beck, The Hollies and Sounds Incorporated, on drums. After some time playing pubs in the UK, the group signed with Vertigo Records (in the US they were on Paramount Records and released their debut album in 1970. A second album followed early in 1971 but the group did not see success quickly and decided to disband late in 1971. Black and Hudson, both originally from Canada, returned to their native country while Newman went on to join Three Man Army.
GRADING
MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.
M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.
EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.
VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
