Stereo Pop Special 21. BBC Transcription Service CN 1589/S Stereo. Made in UK 1972.
2 superb concerts of UK progressive jazz rock !! Both groups recorded live for the BBC in London.

Condition: Disc Near Mint. Inserts Ex. Cover Vg+, has some light stains.
note re. BBC lps. These discs were pressed in small numbers for international subscribers to the service. Only radio stations were allowed access to them, they were never available for sale to the public. The main UK BBC stations broadcast these shows from master tapes, which were often erased, so in many instances the programmes only survive if they were pressed for the transcription service. That's also why they usually turn up outside the UK and mainly in Commonwealth countries. They always came in a generic BBC card sleeve with a cuesheet. Also a "reference" sheet, with biographical information and brief description, was supplied that was usually stored separately by the radio station in a binder with other reference sheets, that's why they are often missing from the discs.
Repressings of some in demand shows are around but they are easy to spot, the labels are black and white, not green/white or green/yellow for the earlier ones.
