Description

First issued in 1955 as “The Modern Jazz Quartet” (Savoy 12046) consisting of 12 titles from the “Milt Jackson Quartet” and the “MJQ” sessions on August and September, 1951 and April, 1952. This is a 1956 mono 2nd pressing retitled “The Quartet” (Savoy 12046). An outstanding album for the sophisticated jazz collector. Photos show the condition and details of the actual items.

Album Description

·      VINYL- VG++: Album has been played several times. A play test revealed accurate sound, no distortion or mis-tracking. A visual review of both sides shows no scuffs or scratches. Side-1: MG 12046A X20 and Side-2: MG 12046B X20 in runout. Vinyl cleaned using a VPI record cleaning machine before shipping. Any ring wear occurred during the cleaning process.

·      RECORD LABELS: Deep groove, maroon with silver text.

·      COVER- VG++: Glossy laminated front cover. Front and back surfaces show some age wear. There is no writing, corner cuts, edge tears or seam splits.

·      SLEEVE: Paper sleeve.
