PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. The 1970 ORIGINAL printing of " FUSE " featured a young longhair named Rick Nielsen (who went on to lead Cheap Trick) ...he plays organ on this fantastic hard rock album....The only album by Fuse, enjoyable late 60's heaviness and quite collectable.
FUSE has an interesting history, being a pre-cursor to Cheap Trick, though it's got nothing in common with them sonically, it's more like early Deep Purple, and also includes members of Nazz. Definitely worth hunting down. "Show Me", "To Your Health" and "Mystery Ship" are good hard rockers with decent vocals from Joe Sundberg and quite heavy for their time, with some brash guitar, bass and organ exemplifying the transition from psychadelia towards hard rock that was happening at that time.
Fuse offers a fascinating glimpse into the musical beginnings of Rick Nielsen and Tom Petersson before superstardom beckoned as members of Cheap Trick, earlier called The Grim Reapers. As Fuse a solitary album was issued prior to guitarist Rick Nielsen and bassist Tom Petersson allying themselves with ex NAZZ members vocalist Robert 'Stewkey' Antoni and drummer Thom Mooney for a revised NAZZ.
Great tunes throughout, and Rick Nielsen mainly plays Keyboards on this, but he does display some early signs of songwriting ability as in Show Me and To Your Health.
The singer was only 17 years old when this was released, what a strong voice for a kid !!!
Tom Peterson has to be one of the most UNDERrated Bass players in popular rock. Just listen to his tight, chunky-bass on this album, and he was only 19 years old! Each track is different, nothing seems repetitive. That is to say, the guitarist, keyboards everyone sounds different on each track. Do not expect to hear any "Cheap Trick sounding" material on this album. It is Hard-rock, a bit progressive, hard hitting music.
Overall, FUSE is very good album, played by a bunch of Rockford Illinois kids, and is highly recomended ... Here, a TOP MINTY CLEAN copy from around 40 years ago...
