This comprises the two classic Mr Fox LP's "Mr. Fox" and "The Gipsy" in one package, like the separate albums this hardly sold at all and is now extremely rare!!!
Mr. Fox were a topnotch folk-prog outfit consisting of Bob and Carol Pegg and varying other bandmembers. They finally got their break with Transatlantic but the albums (from 1970 and 1971) sold zilch although the quality of the music was second to none and in my opinion far more intricate than e.g. Steeleye Span. Their provocative and inventive guitar work and vocals should be heard to be believed, this is up there with the very best folk of the time ....... PURE GOLD and mega rare these days!!!
This hardly ever surfaces nowadays and it's the first time I ever came across this stunner!! Standout track for me was "Near the Sea", this should rightfully be a world acclaimed classic like "Nights in White Satin", "A Whiter Shade of Pale" or "Comfortably Numb" for example.
Gatefold Sleeve: EX+ . Beautiful sleeve with hardly any wear and close to NM really. Fully legible spine. No splits, NO scuffing, NO writing. "As good as it gets!!"
Vinyls: EX. All four sides play extremely well with great audio. There are no marks, only a couple of light paper retraction type wispy traces only visible under a bright lightsource. I have played this all the way through and it really took me back. Superb sound for this classic album that is a real grower!! Of course there are NO jumps , crackle or skips.
LABELS: NM. Light spindle traces only.
