Description

Excellent - and rare - 1st press gatefold copy of May Blitz's debut album on the Vertigo Swirl imprint.
Catalogue Number: 6360 007
Vinyl is in fantastic condition, looks glossy, with no smudges. Playback is excellent, no jumps, pops, hisses, clicks or nasty surprises.
Sleeve is in great condition, and still fully intact. 
Front cover is blemish free, with no tears, rips, dents, folds, writing or smudges, very minor shelf wear but essentially invisible.
Back cover has some minor ringwear on the top half, and some very minor shelf wear, but nothing scary.
Inner swirl sleeve is fully intact and in fantastic shape, no rips, tears or writing etc
Spine is intact but the top half does have some fraying (see pictures), though the label, band name etc are all still visible.

May Blitz were a British/Canadian power trio who issued two albums on the Vertigo label, with this outstanding 1971 debut followed a year later by the aptly-titled '2nd of May'.
Consisting of Jamie Black (vocals, guitar), Reid Hudson (bass), and Tony Newman (drums, percussion), May Blitz were summarily ignored during their own time, but have now become firm cult favourites thanks to their early brand of crushingly-heavy, psychedelic stoner rock, and tracks such as the marijuana-soaked 'Smoking The Day Away'.
Although they existed for less than two years, May Blitz have influenced a generation of hard rock groups, such as Dead Meadow, The Black Angels, Bardo Pond and Earthless, and continue to pick up new fans, with both LP's now considered highly-prized collector's items.
