This is the EXTREMELY RARE CBS Half-speed pressing of this Epic album!!!

1)  Original HALF-SPEED MASTERED record album in absolutely flawless condition with no surface wear or scratches, produced by Quincy Jones

3)  Original vinyl-lined paper inner-sleeve

4)  Original paper insert with caricatures of Michael and Paul McCartney (from “The Girl Is Mine” Duet and lyrics to all songs on the album – NOTE:

6)  Brand new Japanese 4 ML re-sealable vinyl record sleeve to protect the outer jacket

All of my records are professionally wet-cleaned and vacuumed with a VPI HW17f record cleaner and de-statified (is that a word?) with a ZeroStat 3 anti-static gun. For the past 28 years all my records have been babied as follows:

·        vinyl or rice-paper lined record sleeves

·        4 ML or stronger vinyl record sleeves to protect the outer jackets

·        stored in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment on Per-Madsen solid oak record storage shelves (OK, the Per-Madsen storage is less than 30 years old. So shoot me! J )

·        audiophile turntables, tonearms and cartridges (Infinity Black Widow, SME 309, SME IV, JH Formula IV, Oracle Alexandria, Oracle Delphi II/III/IV, and my current rig, which is a VPI TNT II with mods and a Graham 1.5t/c/Van den Hul Black Beauty. This album has only seen the Oracle Delphi and SME IV and Graham/Van den Hul rig.

As with all my auctions – NO RESERVE PRICE. This way my stuff goes for fair market value, and you get to choose the price, not me.

Anyone who’s followed my auctions knows I like to tell a little story about my stuff:

I had always liked Michael Jackson, and when he released this ground-breaking album, I just had to have it. I purchased the regular pressing in ’82, and played it a few times, but, being an audiophile, when this half-speed pressing came out later that year, I jumped at the opportunity to spend 3x the price to buy it. Believing everything I read in the audiophile trade rags at the time, I recorded it to tape (on my Nakamichi Tri-Tracer 1000) the first time I played it and listened to it on tape for years. The record sat on the shelf until I upgraded my turntable rig to the VPI/Graham/Van den Hul rig described above, and has been played 2-3 times on since, but only after cleaning it on my VPI top of the line automatic wet/dry vacuum. I want to be sure you know exactly what you are getting; unlike the quality of the “ABC” album, this record and its jacket are absolutely near mint!

This is one of 6 vinyl records in my Michael Jackson collection. I don’t listen to any of them anymore, and, in memory of the Late – Great Michael Jackson, I offer this collectible to someone who will cherish and care for it and use it.
