Miles Davis – In a Silent Way – Original 1969 Vinyl CBS S63630 Collectors Item.
This is a collector’s item. It is my personal copy of the original album, it is NOT the 2002 or 2008 remastered / released copy.
The album is the Made in Holland original European release. There are no scratches on the surface, I only played this album twice (second time to copy it to a Revox reel to reel tape unit.
The album was released on the CBS Record Label in 1969,catalogue number CBS S63630. The sleeve carries the subtitle "Directions In Music By Miles Davis" printed on front cover bottom right.
Side 1 also has the XSM 150308-1 text and the run out states S63630-A with what looks like a 2 below.
Side 2 is stated as XSM 150309-1 and the runout is S63630-B
Both sides of the label state S63630 (CS 9875).
I have owned this album since I purchased it and have not played this particular album in well over 40 years. I sold many of my Miles Davis albums to a jazz collector some years ago but still have this and three others. Although the surface of the record looks excellent I have no way oftelling how playable it is (I did have a good Pioneer Hi-Fi).
I did spend a large part of my early life in Findlay’srecord shop on the Cow Wynd in Falkirk and Bruce’s in Edinburgh collecting albums. Hope this goes to a good home.
