Description
Up for Auction is an extremely RARE TEST PRESSING of Modest Mouse' "Lonesome Crowded West". This double LP set is in amazing condition considering it is now 20 years old and in that 20 years, I've NEVER seen another copy of this Test Pressing. Upon its release in 1997, Lonesome Crowded West has been considered one of, if not the most, quintessential Indie recordings of all time, marking the rise of the genre to the mainstream music scene. This TEST PRESS is quite literally your chance to own a truly unique piece of music history.
*TEST PRESS* ORIGINAL 1997 UP RECORDS: "The Lonesome Crowded West"
Original double LP Test Pressing from 1997, pressed by RTI. Each recorded comes housed in plain white sleeves containing "SEP 24 1997 ; UP-044 A/B" hand stamped in the upper right corner of the first LP and "SEP 24 1997 ; UP-044 C/D" likewise on the second. Each LP is separately factory SEALED in the "plastic bag/poly" style with one edge containing perforations for opening. A loose 8.5" by 11" information sheet is sealed inside each of the separately packaged LPs and and contains text which explains the record "testing" procedure. Both LPs are in Goldmine Standard MINT condition (besides the perforated edge of the plastic outer packaging for C/D, it has mainly detached with age as these are now 20 years old; didn't see that as a reason to drop grade to NM) so obviously never have been played. Since acquisition of these back in the '90s, both records have been stored in record frames as pictured and subsequently stored within a safe. This set was purchased many years ago by myself from the gentleman who was in charge of the media department at UP Records back in '97. I tend to save all of my receipts/invoices/correspondences when I buy/trade records and have the original correspondence letters and invoice available for anyone who would like to view them for authenticity purposes, etc. Feel free to contact me for more detailed photos or any more background information regarding this Test Press.**Have NEVER seen another one of its kind...Extremely Rare**

As with any/all records I sell, I grade to the most conservative Goldmine Standard Grading. Part of my method of grading and selling is to gain direct feedback from the buyer upon receiving the records. I always ask that the buyer inspect the records (as I know we all do for any online record purchases anyway) and contact me to ensure that they indeed also agree with the original grading that the records were given prior to the sale. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the grade given, contact me. I will do everything in my power to rectify the matter so that both yourself and myself walk away happy.

LPs will be PROFESSIONALLY PACKAGED in proper LP mailers with plenty of added protection to insure that your rare collectables will arrive to you in the same condition in which they were not only described, but also in the condition in which I would expect them to be in if I were receiving them myself. This is huge for me as I am a massive stickler in regards to how my records are packaged when I receive a purchase of my own.
