Mott The Hoople LP ORIGINAL 1973 GENUINE 1st UK CBS Press Sweet [Ex+/Vg+]

Description

An original 1st press of MTH on the UK CBS label from 1973. Matrix A1/B1 - very 1st cut. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note that die-cut opening should have a PVC sheet with an image of a statue on it. As you will find on many copies - this pvc sheet has detached and gone astray. Also included is the original lyric inner sheet.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A lovely looking copy which has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can't make out anything more than a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with on very slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Plays as clean as a whistle even in the high pitch delicate intro to 'Wish I Was Your Mother'. ...CBS could press a great record...Quality audio! Interference is largely absent. I could only make out a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. And just a couple of minor ticks as 'Honaloochie Boogie' closes out. A real sweet player!! The MOTT were at their zenith!
Cover (Vg+) Ok, so don't get caught out with the absence of that PVC sheet with the statue on it. That PVC sheet,, like on so many other examples, has gone astray. The front is relatively clean and unaged. The rear looks just good with just light tarnishing/handling in that white sector. The interior is in perfect condition. Edge wear is minor and the spine is in very good order with all text legible. Please note the spine has folded over at 45 degrees [i.e. it is no longer at right angles to the cover front]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing with no tears or side splits.
