Description

Here we have a "one off" acetate from the early days of Neil Christian & Crusaders. It was recorded in December 1962 at The Universal Studios, Portland Place in London. A moody rock n roll ballad. The Crusaders then were (a very young) Jimmy Page on guitar, Jimmy 'Tornado' Evans on drums, Jimmy 'Jumbo' Spicer on bass and Chris (Neil Christian) on vocals. I was told that this was recorded after they left Joe Meek in 62 (before meeting up with Miki Dallon in 63). Sadly nothing came of this recording and was put on the shelf. His next recording was A Little Bit Of Someone Else in 63.

The record does have surface marks and crackles a bit (see photo) but it does play from start to finish with no problems! This is a 'one sided acetate' with nothing on the flip side.

This must rate as a 'rare' one off recording (especially if you are a fan of Neil Christian or Jimmy Page).
