I have been a vinyl junkie for 30+ years, new relationship means I need to "vinyl downsize"! All records are play graded on an SME deck / cadenza black cartridge through naim super line powered by supercap
Let's be honest, grading is subjective, what may sound great on my deck may sound poor on others ( and vica versa), I know what it's like to receive "over graded" discs, therefore I will always try to be as honest as possible and will grade on the conservative side. I won't use +++++++++++++++++++ I will simply use EX, VG, G, F. That's it. I will also for very rare discs make an audio copy in Dropbox, that way any flaws will be picked up, you will hear the song raw no mucking about through enhancement software it will be a mic in front of my speakers, plus I will always offer a full 14 day standard eBay return policy, no messing. All records have been professionally cleaned with a MOTH RCM and anti static inner sleeves are standard. I want the buyer to be totally satisfied.
So here we go:-
First press Nick Drake five leaves left. First press matrix, also incorrect song running order on both label AND rear cover ( way to blue & day is done)
Cover condition - VG name written on top right hand corner, and on inside bottom of gatefold, some edge wear but no rips.
Labels - VG labels are clean and bright, there is a name written round the edge of side one, so therefore VG
Vinyl visual - EX hardly a mark on it at all, really nice
Vinyl audio - VG I'm going to be hard here, there is light crackle in places, and the odd little pop, no sticks,jumps overall I would grade it VG, on some tracks the crackle is more pronounced than others, this is noticeable more on the last couple of tracks on side 1 and the last track on side 2, it in no way drowns the music out but it's a symptom of the record being played on a deck with the tonearm / cart incorrectly setup, some sellers call it "crackle in quiet places" I call it piss poor turntable setup. BUT it's still a really enjoyable listen, it's not mint but it's very acceptable
Take time out to listen to the whole album, and make your own judgements on grading,it's such a great album, and although the new re-masters are great there is just something about the real first press.
No reserve and low start price, pick up a first press for a "reasonable" price
