OMD - Universal Vinyl LP Record + Press Release - Still In Shrink - Very Rare
This is the incredibly rare vinyl version of Universal by OMD. Pressed in very small numbers, Virgin Records (V2807). This copy is in exceptional condition, and is still in the original shrink wrap which has a partially removed price sticker (this is on the shrink, not on the sleeve). The shrink is slit down the opening side to access the record, and still has a security tag sticker on the back, again this is on the shrink, not the sleeve.
The sleeve is in Excellent condition, with the slightest of corner wear, please see pictures for a closer inspection. The record has been stored in a PVC protective sleeve since I acquired it.
It comes with printed inner sleeve which is in excellent condition.
The vinyl is also in excellent condition, I have never played it and there are no visible spindle marks on the labels, so the very lightest of plays, if any. There are no marks or scratches on the vinyl, just the lightest of wisps from removing from the inner sleeve. I have stored the record in a poly lined sleeve since I've had it.
Also included is a Virgin Records Press Release relating to this record. This did not come from the original sale (from Virgin Megastore) I acquired it separately, but it has always been inside the sleeve, so included in this sale. This promo sheet is also incredibly rare, and is excellent condition as it has been stored inside a plastic sleeve, inside the record.
This has always been one of the rarest of OMD records for collectors, and you are unlikely to find a better example!
After 40 years of collecting, it is time to downsize my OMD collection, so will be listing a few rare items. All items have been lovingly cared for, and stored in protective covers since I acquired them.
Record will be posted in sturdy card packaging to ensure it arrives in top condition. The record will be removed from the sleeve for transit, supplied in a poly lined sleeve to prevent seam splits during transit. The record and press release will be supplied in protective sleeves. I do recycle packaging to keep costs down, and will be using high quality record mailers for these items.
Items will be sent sent by Royal Mail "Sign For" First Class Small Parcel, at cost price (£4.85). This includes insurance of up to £50.00 and a certificate of postage will be retained for all items.
Additional insurance can be provided, but this will cost £8.95 (Royal Mail's price, not mine).
