Description

VERY RARE UK Columbia TURQUOISE STEREO issue SAX 2446/50 in truly STUNNING CONDITION. 

BACH:St MATTHEW PASSION

Issued in 1962 the LP features

OTTO KLEMPERER conducting the PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA

With the voices of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau : Peter Pears : Elisabeth Schwarzkopf : Christa Ludwig : Nicolai Gedda : Walter Berry and the Philharmonia Choir.

 

CONDITION OF THE BOX

As you can see from the scans the BOX is in STUNNING condition - the corners are square and not rubbed - there are no splits or breaks in the edges/corners or seams - the Gold lettering on the spine is clear - the interior is bright and clean with no staining.The box still has all it's original cardboard packing and tissue.Even the back of the box is in unmarked condition.

CONDITION OF THE LIBRETTO

It is in Excellent condition with no creases or tears - the only fault is there are some very short (and I do mean short) underlinings of the odd word in the movements section.

CONDITION OF THE  VINYL & CENTRE LABELS

The vinyl on all 5 LPs (the First one is single sided) is in STUNNING NEAR MINT  condition -  the records honestly do look as if they have rarely been played. All the original first issue Turquoise centre labels are crisp and clean with no spindle wear. They really are all in original Factory shine condition a truly Fantastic set. 

CONDITION OF THE  INNERS

All the original "Opera House & Stars" inners are in great condition with no staining - just the odd creasing on the lower corners. 

THESE RECORDS HAVE NOT BEEN CLEANED WITH A PROFESSIONAL CLEANER

So there you have it, a very RARE BOX SET from this great collection I am selling,it is in FANTASTIC CONDITION and for the SERIOUS COLLECTOR this is probably one of the BEST SETS YOU WILL EVER FIND.
