Description
Nice copy of the 1956 true first pressing of the wonderful Oscar Peterson Keyboard LP, on Clef mono MG-C-697. Original trumpeter label copy. This copy was personally owned by Ray Brown himself, the bassist in the Oscar Peterson Trio, and one of the greatest jazz bassists of all time. There is nothing to prove that it was his, but you can probably search the internet and see that the Ray Brown estate sale just happened here in LA a few days ago (it is now the 26th of May). I acquired a number of his original LPs, many of which he played on himself. If you like I can get a letter of confirmation from the estate sale operator. This copy is quite nice. The disc has some scuffing and light marks but they are really just superficial. It plays very near flawlessly and gorgeously, with only very slight crackle between some tracks, barely. The cover is beautifully clean as well, with only a 3” seam split at the top (see photo), and very slight signs of gentle use and age. Barely. Really shiny and clean. A lovely copy.
