PALP 1479 UK Odeon ED.1Sibelius/Suk -Violin Concerto/Four Pieces-Ginette Neveu RARE EX
As far as I can determine, this is the original first EMI, UK pressing of this highly sought after collectible. Odeon label stickers were required to obscure the HMV Nipper logo on the UK label for legal export of EMI recordings to the USA due to copyright issues with RCA. Typically, these black paper labels were simply glued over the standard UK EMI/HMV disc labels with a water-based adhesive. They were not a separate parallel production as with DECCA/LONDON releases. This particular LP cover does NOT have the Nipper Logo covered over with the metallic sticker usually used for imports to the USA which leads me to guess it was sold somewhere outside the US; maybe South America, etc.

Not Released In Stereo. Feint Spindle Trails On Both Sides of Label.. Both Surfaces Appear Glossy With Marks As Described.
LP DETAILS :..... HMV ALP 1479....ED1 1N/1N
VINYL CONDITION : Side 1 : Visual/Audio – NM, record looks crisp and clean; plays with soft tics here-and there; Side 2: Visual/Audio - there is a 2 inch scratch and another lighter scratch near the label, otherwise this LP looks clean; plays with mild but infrequent tics throughout. NOTE: the scratches can be heard but do not interfere with the overall quality of the audio.
Label is bright and clean, spindle hole wear is negible.
SLEEVE COND.: NM, no creases, wrinkles,puckers, seam splits or writing. Remarkable condition for a LP of this vintage.
